Give less f*cks

Whether it's school or work stressing us out, we all need to just chill and stop sweating the small stuff.

Honestly, how many times a day do you find yourself worrying about the wrong things like 'I haven't gotten a text back' or 'I'm going to miss my bus'. So what you haven't gotten a text back? Chances are that person isn't even worth your time, and as for the bus, take the next one, who cares.

Maybe I'm sounding a little apathetic, but we have to condition our minds to really care about what matters and stop letting our brains overreact to certain situations. The way we react to things and let them affect our mood is completely up to us, no matter what the circumstances are. I've been reading a book called 'The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck', in which the author, Mark Manson, states:

[...] we, individually, are responsible for everything in our lives, no matter the external circumstances. We don’t always control what happens to us. But we always control how we interpret what happens to us, as well as how we respond. Whether we consciously recognize it or not, we are always responsible for our experiences.

The outcome of any situation starts with you. YOU are able to make your days better with less worrying and more enjoying.

A few things I do for a quick pick-me-up:

  • Listen to music (very loud)
  • Have one of my favourite drinks (Iced Chai Latte)
  • Read positive quotes (I like @youareluminous on instagram)
  • Talk to people around me (friends, family, co-workers) for an instant mood booster.

I'll end this one with a quote " I am more and more convinced that our happiness or our unhappiness depends far more on the way we meet the events of life than on the nature of those events themselves." - Wilhelm von Humboldt
