FEARlessness
fear·less·ness noun.
ˈfirləsnəs/
1. lack of fear.
I was listening to a podcast the other day called Super Soul Conversations by Oprah Winfrey in which Dr. Phil was the guest speaker. They were discussing how we often act out of a) fear of failure or b) fear of rejection. This got me thinking about my life in general and how often I stop myself from doing or saying something (many times small and silly things) because of fear. Fear is often a thought we make in our own minds that prevents us from achieving things or taking risks in life.
“Whatever you fear most has no power—it is your fear that has the power”
If you read this quote carefully, fear literally takes over our lives, as our minds give it its power.
I challenge you to face your fears everyday. Start by making a list of 5 fears you have (smallest to biggest) and find ways in your everyday life to confront them starting with the smallest. Some of my fears:
- fear of heights
- fear of roller coasters
- fear of travelling alone
- fear of embarrassment (to me, this one and the next are very hard to overcome)
- fear of expressing my true feelings
Nothing great comes from comfort zones & I encourage you to get out of yours, it's beautiful on the other side!
Hope you enjoyed this post and let's be fearless.
XO
