2019 Financial Goals

Hi there and happy new year!

Like most people, I tend to wait until the beginning of a week, month or year to set goals for myself (I know, lame, but that’s how it works best for me!).

For 2019, I’ve decided to take full control of my finances in order to reach financial freedom, and reduce any debts I have by at least 75%. I’ll be doing a challenge every month:

february (1).png

February: No shopping for clothes all of February!
March: All your expenses must be paid with debit/cash that includes online payments.
April: Save the amount of cash equal to each day (April 1st = save 1$, April 2nd = save 2$ and so on)
May: Limit dining out to once a week (this includes coffee, breakfast/lunches during work hours, date nights, etc)
June: Similar to March, pay everything in cash when you can (some bills might require e-transfers)
July: Look for ways to make extra $$ (you can sell clothes/goods that you no longer wear/use online or offer help to family members in exchange for $$)
August: Cut your weekly grocery bill by 50% by following flyer deals, shopping at cheaper grocery stores (e.g. Walmart) you’ll notice you can eat good and healthy for way cheaper! One suggestion I’d make is the Flipp app. This app allows you to shop multiple flyers and get great deals!
September: For two weekends during the month, spend 0$ from Friday through Sunday (plan ahead if you need gas or food, but also find free activities to do outdoors, etc)
October: Don’t drink (or smoke weed now that it’s legal in Canada) for all of October. If you consume for any medical reasons don’t stop but if you only consume socially, cut it out for the month!
November: Use my envelope system to save extra $$ in preparation for the holidazeeeee!

If you have any other tricks to save more money this year, fire off in the comments - I love me a new challenge ;)

XO,
Marie Cristina
